The Southern Railway Station Wedding

bride and groom at southern railway

I can’t remember what I wrote about in Delaney and Devin’s engagement session blog, but I’m sure it had something to do with the fact that I have two sisters-in-law named Devin and Dylana (pronounced the same as Delaney but with an “uh” sound on the end instead of “ee”). It’s crazy how similar Delaney and I are and how similar Devin and Dustin are. I see Dustin’s and my relationship in them so much it’s crazy. Delaney found me through Kristy Myers of Margaret Claire’s Weddings & Events, and I’m certain the reason Kristy referred them to me instead of the 100s of other amazing photographers she has worked with is because she could see me in Delaney and knew we would be a great fit. And we so are, you guys. I had a complete blast photographing their wedding at Southern Railway Station. It was absolutely stunning. Delaney communicated an overall vision for their wedding to Kristy, and boy did Kristy make it happen. Every single detail fit into the vibe of the Southern Railway Station seamlessly. Even Delaney’s wedding dress and shoes. The phrase I would use to best describe this day is vintage timelessness. 100 years from now these photos will still be gorgeous because of the classic way Devin and Delaney (and Kristy) brought it all together. The wedding had a little bit of a Great Gatsby vibe and a whole lot of class. As I edited, I caught myself so many times having to close my mouth because it was just so gorgeous.

One of my favorite parts around this day was the dance floor. Shew. This crew knew how to bust a move. As much as Devin claimed to be a terrible dancer and to hate it so much, he had some moves himself. And of course Delaney, with her cheer past, adorably danced the night away surrounded by all of her favorite people. Also, they had a cigar bar because one of the things Devin did with his dad growing up was collect cigars. It was cool seeing Delaney in her natural environment on the dance floor and Devin with his dad outside sharing some cigar time. I can’t help but bring up the dancing star of the night…Jared, Delaney’s brother. He knew every single choreographed song all night long. No matter what was playing, he was out there holding the fort down until everyone else decided to come back. It was kind of awesome, and he definitely makes up at least half of my dance floor shots 😂!

I hope you love this classic wedding as much as I do! The Southern Railway Station was the most perfect venue for them!
