A Warm Sunny World’s Fair Site Engagement in February
When Marissa and Wayne scheduled their World’s Fair Site engagement session for February 5th, I was prepared for freezing temps. Besides, we usually get one final snow in February before it starts warming up in March. But Marissa and Wayne got weather from the heavens. I mean, honestly, it felt like that perfect April day. 60 degrees, sunny, no wind. It felt like we should see daffodils springing up from the ground. Then, I had to pinch myself and remember it is the beginning of February. As much as I’m trying to resist getting tricked into a warm weather mindset, it’s hard to resist!
On top of the perfect weather, this was also my first session back since I had surgery. It’s been 5 weeks since I held a camera in my hands, and my oh my, did it feel so good. My first session and my last session of the year are always some of my favorites. We decided we would all meet back up on 12/31 for them to be my last session, too, so they could claim annual favorite on both sides of the spectrum.
I’m so thankful for this couple. Thankful they chose me to be their wedding photographer, and thankful they are having me there on one of the most important days of their lives. I few years ago, I photographed Marissa’s brother’s wedding and have actually become really good friends with them. So, it won’t just be wedding-related things where I get to hang with these two. It’s also birthday parties and friend gatherings, too! On the wedding day, it’ll feel much more like I am there as a friend who happens to be a photographer as I’m hugging the necks of all the familiar people!
