UT Gardens Maternity Session

When I shoot past AMP couples, they already know what they are getting when they walk into their post wedding portrait session. They know the foreheads together, they know the walk on their tight rope, and most of all, they know to trust me even if something feels weird. i.e. whispering something ridiculous in a Batman voice in each other’s ears. Usually, when I’m shooting a couple for the first time, I have to teach these things from the start, which is fine because how are they supposed to know? It usually takes a good 2-3 times for them to really feel comfortable in said pose and for me to get exactly what I’m looking for. Again, very normal. But at Lindsey and Joey’s UT Gardens maternity session, they killed it first try every single time. Sometimes, they did the thing I wanted them to do even before I said to do it. They are not a seasoned AMP couple either. Also, I always try to keep things light at a session. Fun, laugh-y, enjoyable. The lighter the atmosphere feels, the more comfortable they feel even when my camera is up. But they switched rolls on me, and they kept ME laughing the whole time. Honestly, it kicked off feeling like I was working with long time friends, and I hope they had as much fun at their UT Gardens maternity session as I did.

P.S. Can we all just acknowledge how freaking beautiful all these blooms are? I’m glad our winters are short here in East TN because all the color really gives me so much life.
