You’ll notice more blurry photos than usual as you look through these urban engagement photos. This is because at the beginning of our time together, Emmy told me she really loves blurry photos. While I will always incorporate a few of those into your session, if you let me know you definitely want more/less of them, I can totally accommodate. Things like more blurry photos or more candid style photos. More landscape/portrait photos or more black and white photos. Those are all things you can ask of your photographer. Most will happily shift to capture more of those particular things. There are some things that photographers won’t change though. Things like their editing style, pricing, lenses they shoot with, flash setup, or their workflow. Those things fall under their personal “style” and are part of what they think makes their work so great. It can be confusing as to why a photographer would change in one area but not in another. If you are ever in doubt, it’s ALWAYS okay to respectfully ask. “I don’t know if this is an option, but…” is a great way to pose that question. Or “I love your photos so much as they are. Just curious if…” I’m so thankful Emmy told me up front that she especially loves the blurry shots so I could get more of those for her. Communication is KEY in all areas of life and definitely in the service industry. It doesn’t hurt our feelings!! We want to make sure we serve you in the very best way we can!
Shout out to Emmy and Lucas for bringing my creativity to life with their urban engagement photos in Downtown Knoxville. I shot at some spots I haven’t shot at in forever and found a really new spot at the very end of our session that I’m totally obsessed with! I’m gatekeeping it for now though. I have found over the years that when I share hidden gems, they become bombarded with other photographers. Then eventually, they’re removed as an option entirely…ugh. So, this one is all to myself, but if you’ve been there, you’ll recognize it immediately. It’s GORGEOUS, and these two were GORGEOUS in that setting!
