Two Month Photos
Right at the beginning of the Phase 2 opening, I had the opportunity to go to Somerset, KY to take two month photos of a sweet little girl named Hazel. There’s no way I’m forgetting her name 😉. Her parents live in Boston but her grandparents live in Somerset. Since she was born into the pandemic and right in the middle of quarantining, Hazel had never met her Somerset grandparents. Finally, they were free to travel outside of Boston and they immediately drove down to Somerset for Hazel to meet her nana and papa Pope.
It warmed my heart so much when Laura Pope, a.k.a Nana, reached out to me to come to Somerset to snap a few photos of her sweet grandbaby. How special this time was going to be for them. I asked if she had much light coming into her house or any white surfaces that I could shoot on… she said yes and when I arrived to photograph sweet Hazel’s two month photos at their house, she had arranged everything so perfectly for me! There was a white bedspread on a bed with plenty of light coming in. She had fresh sunflowers for me to use and even clipped some greenery and other flowers from her landscaping to make the floral shot that much more perfect. The Pope family goes way back with the Fothergill family, and I know they could have chosen anyone to take these photos, so I’m absolutely honored they chose me. It was nice having an extra excuse to go to Somerset and visit with Dustin’s family on their turf for a change (because they ALWAYS come to us… which we are SO grateful for, but also feel bad because they make that drive a LOT).
