Last weekend, I shot a wedding at The Quarry Venue for the first time in years. The last time I was there, it was so different, but even then I thought it was great. Since then, they’ve added the building of my dreams with a massive parking lot and a remodeled groom’s suite. Honestly, I am IN LOVE with it. Not to mention the amazing group of staff that will just put you flying high with their kindness. Seriously. When I pulled up, the lead staff member for the day called me by name (note, we have never met before), told me how much she loves my work, exchanged phone numbers with me, pointed me in the right direction, and even asked if she could help me carry my bags. The remainder of the day, numerous other staff members chatted with me like we were long time friends. They complimented something about my work or how I was running the day. I left and immediately texted the owner to tell her how special they all made me feel!
Enough about the vendors because I definitely need to tell you more about Mary Beth and Josh. Something that stood out to me about Mary Beth is how much she cares for others. Even on her wedding day, which is a day every single person agrees should be all about her and Josh. A day she can get away with being as self obsessed as she wants, and no one would even bat an eye. Instead, she consistently complimented everyone around her, asked if they needed anything, if they needed any help, and told them all how good they looked. She even asked me if I needed anything. She is so thoughtful and always puts others first. Even on her own wedding day. Maybe this is why she’s such a great doctor!
Josh’s traits I admire so much are his ability to show emotion and keep things fun. Josh is a go big or go home kind of guy. For their first look, he literally shrieked before he covered his face and cried real tears into his hands. He kept telling her how good she looked and how amazed that he is that it was finally happening. Later, when I showed them a little sneak peek of that moment, he cried again. For their first dance, they didn’t do a stereotypical slow dance. They played a Nat King Cole song and jived to it with big smiles and laughter throughout the whole thing. When he did his first dance with his mom, they did another classic and threw in some choreographed dance moves. There is literally never a dull moment with this guy. I’m positive he and Mary Beth will never lack on the adventure side of life together.
I’m so thankful Mary Beth and Josh invited me to be part of their wedding day. It was an absolute blast, and I am so pumped to show you some of my favorites from the day!
