Marblegate Farm Wedding || Knoxville, TN || Laura Kate & Allister

Sunny Marblegate Farm Wedding

Laura Kate & Allister picked one of the prettiest weather days of the whole year. I mean honestly though… there was no humidity… beautiful sunshine all day… 72 degrees… the guys weren’t sweating, the girls weren’t freezing. But regardless of the weather, I knew their wedding was going to be a really pretty one. First off, they chose Marblegate Farm as their venue. Have you seen this place?? Holy moly batman. It. is. stunning. Second off, Laura Kate is a little OCD and used her entire 1.5 year engagement to it’s fullest and took advantage of having that much time. She planned the whole day perfectly and I usually say “it’s not a wedding until something goes awry” but in Laura Kate and Allister’s case, nothing went awry. Even the two year old and four old ring bearer and flower girl cooperated swellingly. How??? I literally do not know how they did it but they had a wedding without a hiccup and my oh my was it incredible.

The number one concern I get when couples are deciding on a first look is that they don’t want to “ruin” the moment during the ceremony. But here is exhibit A of how that doesn’t happen. They did a first look. It was adorable. Allister’s jaw dropped, Laura Kate had a massive smile and held her hands out like “ta-da!!”. We got a TON of portraits of the two of them, and when it came time for the ceremony, Allister and Laura Kate both cried as she walked down the aisle. The moment was certainly not lost and they got two very different, very genuine, very authentic reactions and got triple the amount of portraits they would have gotten if they’d not done a first look.

I know it’s not for everyone… And I don’t want every single couple to do it just because it’s logistically easier. I mean it when I say I want what is best for you. But if your on the fence about it, I think you will love doing one!

P.S. When you get to the sunset photos, yes, they really did step out on a couple of boulders on the river’s edge and yes, me and the videographer did the same exact thing and got some GORGEOUS, AMAZING, EPIC sunset photos. I’m literally dying looking through them because I love them so freaking much. Marblegate Farm always has the prettiest sunset!
