The Stables at Strawberry Creek Wedding

One of the things I love most about Brittney is how she shows her emotion. When she laughs, she laughs with her whole face. When she’s being sentimental, she does so through her touch, her look, her voice, all of her senses. The morning of her Strawberry Creek wedding, as she slid into her dress, she got emotional. It was finally here. All the work, all the planning, all the waiting… she was finally getting to marry this man who had not only shown her true, unconditional love, but also, her little boy, Mason. She was finally getting to marry Dusty. After she put on the dress, we proceeded with a first look between Brittney and Mason, and then between Brittney and her dad. It was the way her dad reacted that showed me where Brittney gets her emotions from. It was the sweetest thing ever. You’ll know it when you see it below, but gosh, his expression is really priceless. I don’t think I’ve ever had a dad react with so much emotion. You’ll see this same emotion scattered throughout the night of this Strawberry Creek wedding as dad attempted to give a speech and dance with his baby girl. I’m spending so much time on Brittney’s dad because towards the end of the reception, he pulled me aside and told me something. And as he said these words, his eyes filled with tears. He said You don’t know what Brittney has been through… you don’t know what Mason has been through… and to see a man like Dusty come along side of both of them the way he has done makes me the proudest dad on the planet. There is no one I would prefer over that man right there to be with my daughter and grandson the rest of their lives. and he was nodding toward the dance floor where I found Dusty, Brittney and Mason all dancing together to some random dance song.

I could feel the thankfulness overflowing from this dad’s heart and it got me a bit emotional. Guys, this is what I believe in. This kind of love. No fluff, no opt-out, just true grit kind of love. The kind that makes a large, grown, husky man get tears in his eyes because he sees how true it really is. I love my job so much and am overwhelmed with gratefulness that these couples let me join them on a day as important as their wedding day. The day they commit their lives to one another forever. The day they seal it all with a kiss and launch into their journey. It is such an honor.
