Spring Wedding at Castleton
Okay… so when I say spring wedding at Castleton Farms, I really mean spring-ish. One of the things that I love most about Castleton is that they have very few landscaping designs that look dead in the winter. This wedding was this past weekend, March 7th. I would not necessarily consider March 7th to be spring, but with the dusty blue bridesmaid’s dresses, the color in the bouquets, and the GORGEOUS sunshine coupled with a venue that has a lot of year-round landscaping… it really does look like spring.
One of my favorite things about this wedding was the jokes that were happening all day. Sarah and Ryan have been together for 9 years and it would have been longer if their parents let them date in middle school. When you’ve been around each other for that long… a lot of inside jokes accumulate. But it wasn’t just Sarah and Ryan for that long. Kristen, Sarah’s big sister, Megan, Ryan’s little sister, their parents, and even some of their bridesmaids and groomsmen have been around that long. So when I say the jokes accumulated… I mean lots and lots and lots of jokes accumulated. You’ll see so many pictures below of people laughing. Sometimes, I instigate that laughter with a prompt or a joke, but for Sarah and Ryan’s spring wedding at Castleton, I did not have to instigate anything. It was just a day full of joy and laughter and lots of people that love each other a lot. Like a lot, a lot.
I am at Castleton several times this season and I’m so stoked about it. It’s a massive venue that has SO much to offer. I’ve shot a ton of engagement sessions out there and 4 weddings so far and my main goal when I shoot at the same place a lot, is to make them look different. I don’t want to use all the same spots. I don’t want to use all the same poses. And I most certainly do not want all of my couples’ wedding images to look the same… blah. As I continue into this wedding season and get to go back to Castleton a ton… I’m saying this out loud to help hold myself accountable. Next time you’re on here and see a Castleton wedding… make a mental note and let me know if you think it looked unique compared to my other Castleton weddings!
