Southern Railway Station Engagement Session
Eric proposed to Erica on a hike in the Smokies. So, when we discussed engagement session locations, we decided on a place called Andrew’s Bald. It was going to be totally gorgeous except for on issue. There is a bit of a hike. We all three love hiking though so it’s not the fact that it’s a hike, but coupling that with the already early sunset time, we would have to start midday, which meant taking off even earlier from work. Plus, hiking while in cute clothes and little booties is an entirely different story than leggings and tennis shoes. So, we moved the location to this really cool bridge in the woods that did not have a hike. It was still super outdoorsy and surrounded by a wooded area and a pretty river, but then, the forecast said rain. In an effort to keep it at that spot, we rescheduled to the following week, and what do you know?!?! It rained again. This time, instead of rescheduling, we chose a Southern Railway Station engagement session. Specifically, at the Blue Slip Winery inside.
I have shot two weddings at this venue but never an engagement session. On wedding days at the Southern Railway Station, I have to generally narrow down the spots where I want to take photos because there are too many to squeeze them all in our timeframe. At this engagement session, however, we got to do them all, and I LOVED it! I didn’t realize they also offer portraits at an hourly rate. From now on, if rain is in the forecast, and we can’t reschedule, I will be sharing this as an option to my couples because it gave us SO many great indoor options that I just love!
