I’ve written about this before, but I almost enjoy rainy wedding days because it forces me out of my comfort zone. Especially at venues I shoot at a lot because it’s so so so easy to fall into a comfort zone there. So for Christina and David’s rainy Castleton Farms wedding, I literally shot all of their portraits in new locations. I found one of my all time favorite first look spots I would have never used otherwise and another all time favorite bridal party spot. You know what else? I LOVE that Christina and David were not scared to take the umbrellas and go out in it.
One of my favorite parts about Christina and David’s day was how they kept asking me to take more portraits. Honestly, I can count on one hand how many times a couple has asked me to go take more photos before I got to ask them. Every single time they asked me, of course the answer was always a very enthusiastic YES! What’s more, the Lord saw fit to part those beautiful clouds for the majority of our portraits. They really got the best of both worlds because when it did rain, it was just a sprinkle. and they got to have those cute umbrella pictures. When it wasn’t raining, we got to shoot in directions I don’t get to shoot when the sun is shining bright because it’s blinding at those angles usually. We got to take all of their bridal party photos outside, their family photos outside, and we even got some pretty epic fireworks-in-the-rain shots.
I really really really love this couple. They had time set aside for their private dinner at The Manor during cocktail hour. I had a little surprise I showed them during that time, and when I was about to head down to the reception, they stopped me and gave me a live review. Live review?? Huh? I mean like a review you would normally leave someone online, they just told me right then and there, and I swear, you guys, it was so sweet I teared up. The fact they even thought for half a second to think of me on THEIR wedding day. They took time out of their private, sweet, precious, newlywed dinner to speak those words to me is literally the sweetest thing on the planet. I could not ask for better AMP couples. Not to mention how they played it totally cool that they ended up with a rainy Castleton Farms wedding day. I mean honestly, I’m not sure it even phased them. You know why? Because they invested in a REALLY great vendor team that they trusted and knew would KILL it even if it was raining. And they were right. The team killed it, and I’m so thankful for each and every one of them. Find a list at the bottom of this blog with links to their sites because it was such a great team!
