There’s something about a wedding day that feels even more emotional when family legacy is woven throughout it, and this Press Room Catholic wedding for Andi and Ray was filled with those meaningful details from beginning to end.
Andi and Ray exchanged vows during a beautiful Catholic ceremony at St. John Neumann Catholic Church before celebrating with family and friends at The Press Room. The combination of a traditional Catholic ceremony and the modern downtown atmosphere of The Press Room created such a timeless balance for their wedding day.
One of the most meaningful details from the day was the way Andi honored her late grandparents. Wrapped around her bouquet was her grandfather’s bolo tie alongside her grandmother’s necklace. It was subtle and such a beautiful way to carry pieces of her family history with her as she walked down the aisle. But what made it even more unforgettable was the moment her grandmother noticed it.
After the ceremony, while we were photographing extended family portraits, someone pointed out the bolo tie wrapped around the bouquet. Her grandmother immediately covered her mouth with her hand as tears welled up in her eyes. It was one of those completely unplanned moments that instantly affected everyone standing nearby. You could feel how deeply meaningful it was to her. Those are the kinds of moments that make wedding days unforgettable. Not because we scheduled into a timeline, but because they happened naturally and sincerely.
Another thing I absolutely loved about Andi and Ray’s wedding day was the way they chose to exit their ceremony. Instead of the traditional dip kiss at the end of the aisle, Ray kissed Andi’s hand and then gave her a twirl. It was elegant, playful, and honestly created two incredibly beautiful images instead of just one. For brides wearing fuller gowns or dramatic trains, this is such a smart alternative. It keeps the movement soft and natural while avoiding the stress of stepping all over the dress during a dip in the middle of the aisle.
From the emotional family moments to the intentional details and joyful celebration downtown, Andi and Ray’s wedding day was such a beautiful reminder that the smallest personal touches often become the most memorable parts of the day.
