Melton Hill Park 1 Year
I’m a little sad about the fact that this is my last portrait session with Miss Elliana Weiss! She has completed her baby’s first year with me and is graduating into toddlerhood! We had a grand finale with a Melton Hill Park 1 year session at 7:30 in the morning and an even grander finale in the sand on the outdoor volleyball court. She had never felt sand before, and I think it’s safe to say she will love her first beach trip.
It’s funny how fast time flies when it’s someone else’s child. Don’t get me wrong, time passes quickly with Grayson, too, but the first year of his life did not disappear in the blink of an eye. These first 6 weeks of Hazel’s life have not felt like the speed of light either. I know that goes against popular opinion, but I can honestly say I’ve really let all of their stages sink deep into my bones. I took a lot of real snapshots, but I also took so many mental snapshots of things I loved about each phase. I remember those little baby hands run through my lotiony fingers. The rolls that gathered at the tops of his thighs. The little grunts as she puts herself back to sleep. The way she smiles every time she looks at our ceiling fan. But when it’s someone else’s child…a baby that I’m photographing every three months from birth to one year…the time just flies by. It seriously seems like yesterday that I was taking newborn pictures at the Weisses’ family house in Chattanooga and falling in love with the mint exterior. Now, we have just completed our Melton Hill Park 1 year session, and I’m just over here looking at my watch thinking it’s time for another Weiss baby so we can see each other every quarter again ;-).
