A heartfelt Marblegate summer wedding filled with family, joyful smiles, and the sweetest coffee-cart surprise
Kristen and Jacob’s Marblegate summer wedding was filled with heartfelt moments, thoughtful surprises, and the kind of joy you simply cannot manufacture.
One of the moments that touched me most happened during what is usually the quietest part of a wedding day for me. I was photographing details in the bridal suite while Kristen and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done when Jacob’s mom came to tell me how the couple found me.
It turns out that she had recommended me! She began following my work on Facebook years ago and has supported my little business ever since. When Kristen and Jacob started searching for a photographer, she casually suggested that they at least consider me. Then, when they also found my name on Marblegate Farm’s vendor list, they took it as a sign and booked me.
As she shared the story, tears began welling up in her eyes. It meant so much to her that they had taken her suggestion to heart. She mentioned watching my children grow up through the years and appreciating the way my business supports Hope Resource Center. By the time she finished, my eyes were teary too, and I couldn’t help but give her a hug. It was such a precious reminder of how the Lord is weaving stories long before we have any awareness of them.
Later, Kristen smiled throughout the entire ceremony, and I mean the entire ceremony! It wasn’t especially short, yet her giant grin never disappeared. I’m honestly surprised her jaw didn’t start cramping! Her happiness was completely genuine, and it was beautiful to see how excited she was to finally marry Jacob.
After their grand entrance, Kristen and Jacob made their way through the crowd and stopped to hug their parents before beginning their first dance. It was a simple but incredibly sweet gesture that made their families feel especially loved.
Another highlight of this Marblegate summer wedding was the coffee cart Jacob secretly hired for Kristen. Since she isn’t a big alcohol drinker, Kristen appreciates a truly great cup of coffee. Jacob even wakes up before her each morning and makes her coffee! Surprising her with fresh espresso on their wedding day was thoughtful, personal, and perfectly suited to their relationship. It also happened to be some of the best-smelling coffee I have ever encountered.
At the end of the reception, guests gathered outside for the sparkler exit. As I stayed back to give the couple some instructions, Jacob paused and looked around the room. He looked at his new wife, then at me, and enthusiastically said, “This was the best day of my life.”
I’ll never forget the pure bliss on both of their faces. Kristen and Jacob’s Marblegate summer wedding truly was a nearly perfect day, and I couldn’t agree with him more.
