Sarah and Justin are new to the AMP family and are having a sweet baby girl so soon! Last week when it rained every day, it stopped long enough for their Maple Grove Estate maternity photos. What I love about this venue is even in the dead of winter, it still looks very much alive. There were still so many backdrops with evergreen trees and plants. We shot inside with the living house plants. We shot against the white brick wall and on the brick mossy steps. There is one spot on the driveway at the end where you can very much tell it’s winter. Honestly, we needed that. It’s nice to have timeless photos and photos showing exactly when and where you are. Especially generations from now when someone is looking at this photo trying to decipher which baby was in her tummy.
Every time I am hired to take photos for someone, I am always doing it with both the present and the future in mind. Of course, the future being unknown exactly so I have various scenarios I am shooting for. Will this be the very last photo of Grandma? The very last bump picture before the bump is gone? Their last kiss? Will this be hanging on a wall for the next 20 years? Will kiddos flip through this book admiring their mom and dad? It goes so much further beyond the here and now, which is one of the reasons why I love photography so stinking much.
