Maple Grove Bridal Session

Two days before I was supposed to photograph Alana’s Maple Grove bridal session, our whole house got the stomach bug. I’m not talking a mild version. I’m talking all four of us throwing up multiple times an hour. All of our stomachs burning and aching with pain and absolutely no energy to walk around. I was also pregnant, and we were laying on the couch all day for 2-3 days in a row just watching TV and falling in and out of sleep. It was rough. Being 48 hours before Alana’s Maple Grove bridal session, I was hoping and praying my energy would return and my throwing up would stop so I could photograph her bridal session. If it were an engagement session or any other type of portrait session, we could easily have rescheduled, but with a bridal session, we already had to wait to get alterations back of her dress, and it was close to the wedding day. I needed time to get them edited, returned, and allow time for Alana to print some for the wedding day. Not to mention it was busy season, and we had already reserved Maple Grove, hair and makeup, and a florist for this date. Instead of risking it, I lined up another photographer (thank you, Alaina René, for being so amazing and coming to save me last minute) to be “on call” if I woke up the morning of the session unable to walk through our house without feeling like I was going to pass out. Turns out, I definitely could not have shot a session that day. Alaina so graciously went on my behalf and photographed Alana’s Maple Grove bridal session for me. I couldn’t be more thankful for her to come in so last minute and love on Alana just as I would have. She found beautiful locations, stunning light, and delivered the most amazing images to me. I’m so thankful for her and thankful to Alana for being so understanding. I was SO upset I couldn’t be the one to do this for her, but also so happy with the way it turned out because her images are gorgeous!
