Every time someone said, “Amanda!” at this Kincaid House wedding I would turn around. I was completely ready to listen to whatever they needed to say to me, but every single time I was that person. You know the one. The one waving at someone who is actually waving at someone else right behind them. See, the bride’s name is not only Amanda, but it’s Amanda May. Plus, her mom’s name is not only Pam, but it’s Pamela May, which is my mom’s name. I met Amanda’s mom at Amanda’s bridal session that we did a couple months ago at Crescent Bend. When she told me her name, I was like, No WAY! That’s MY mom’s name! What is your dad’s name???? And she responded Jimmy. I said oh, my dad’s name was Ja– and at the same time we both said James. Jimmy is short for James, although I’m not really sure why, but it dawned on me that my stepmom and their closest friends would call my dad Jimmy. Like wait, what??? How is this possible?? Now, I’m just waiting on my youngest brother to marry a Brittany so we can both have sisters named Brittany. Or maybe Amanda’s sister Brittany will marry an Alex. Who knows. Either way, I felt like I was part of the family. At the end of the night at this Kincaid House wedding when I thanked Pam for having me, she hugged me, and she said We wouldn’t have had anyone else. You’re amazing, and you’re pretty much one of us so it worked perfectly. She totally made my whole night!
I LOVED this Kincaid House wedding. The Kincaid House is nestled back in Clinton, TN, which is actually where I grew up (another crazy similarity). It’s an old historic house that was completely remodeled and is GORGEOUS. The best feature of this venue though is the courtyard and gazebo/lighthouse (I think it looks like a lighthouse even though it doesn’t sit anywhere near water, but the venue calls it a gazebo). There are stone walkways and arches throughout the entire property, and right in the center of it all is the most gorgeous lighthouse-esque structure. Amanda and Zeke got married in front of the gazebo, and it was absolutely stunning. I can’t wait for you to see it for yourself. This is another venue that has been around here for a very long time, and I just hadn’t gotten to shoot it as a primary photographer. It’s crazy that I’ve shot over 100 weddings in Knoxville, and none of them had been at staple Knoxville wedding venues like Kincaid House or Crescent Bend. Now, I have shot at both locations, and I couldn’t love them more. I hope you enjoy this Kincaid House wedding as much as I did!
