Hope Resource Center Mini Sessions

I started the Hope Resource Center Mini Session Fundraiser in 2020 when the pandemic hit, and they couldn’t have their traditional in-person event. We raised over $10,000 for them last year so that was the basis for my goal this year, and I’m happy to say we met that goal! I served 26 families, and 3 of those 26 sessions were donated for Hope Resource patients to come and have photos made. In 2020, we did two days full of 20 minute sessions, and this year, we did 1 very long day full of 15 minute sessions.

These sessions always take place in the spring, which heightens the threat of rain, and of course, showers moved in the day of the mini sessions. Since rescheduling 26 families to another day is impossible, I moved the location from the epic Baxter Gardens to my house so I had access to my indoor studio should the rain insist on moving in. I’m happy to say we only had to shoot four sessions in the studio, and the rest were outside with the GORGEOUS blooms on our street. Our neighbors were so gracious letting me shoot in their yards and in front of their houses!

If you don’t know what Hope Resource Center does, you definitely need to start following them on Instagram and read about their mission! They do so much for our community, but their main goal is to give parents with unexpected pregnancies an option other than abortion. They provide free medical care, parenting classes, mentoring, and even baby showers for parents walking through their program. They provide hundreds of ultrasounds every single month, and when no one else wants to love on these scared parents, they are there. No judgment, no harsh words. Just love and acceptance and a large dose of hope to help them through this scary first step of choosing to have their baby.

It is an absolute honor that they ask me to partner with them on different occasions. They are truly the hands and feet of Christ, and it is SUCH a beautiful thing.
