When Savannah initially reached out to me, she and Will were planning to get married at the downtown Asheville courthouse. They are both from Knoxville, and when I asked her, “Why Asheville?” she just said she thinks it’s pretty. They reserved their date with me, booked engagement photos, and then, I got another email from Savannah saying, “Sooooo, we are moving our venue to a Castle in Asheville.” I have never seen the downtown Asheville courthouse, but I would be lying if I didn’t say the sound of a Castle got me really excited. A Homewood Castle micro wedding was exactly what I needed to officially end my 2022 wedding season.
I didn’t fully know what to expect as I made my way to Asheville with my family in tow. I had looked it up, but I didn’t know exactly where they were going to get married, how the decor would be, or how the lighting would be. There was no way to know what surfaces I would have to shoot on or what the getting ready suite would look like. When I arrived, however, it was honestly even better than I could imagine. Savannah and Will opted to have their ceremony in the large main room. The fireplace was on behind them, and greenery, gold candelabras, and lit candles decorated the mantel, aisle, and window panes. The giant windows let in tons of light. The room was warm and welcoming and was just the perfect atmosphere for Savannah and Will’s Homewood Castle micro wedding.
I cannot tell you how thankful I am that Savannah and Will chose me to be a part of their day. They are absolutely one of the most adorable couples on the planet, I am completely and totally convinced. I adore how much they smile and giggle at one another. I pray that joy follows them throughout the rest of their lives.
