7 Month Session at Home

I have photographed this family so much over the years that we have shot in all the places around Knoxville. As we approached Andrew’s next milestone session, we were discussing places where we could shoot, and Shannan asked if we could do a home family session. She sent me photos of her neighborhood and what their back deck looked like, and it was literally perfect. If we hadn’t done it at sunrise, it wouldn’t have worked nearly as well because of the direction the light was coming from. I don’t think there’s any way you would know we were shooting in their neighborhood with houses 50 feet apart.

I love this family so much and how transparent they are with life. When things are hard, they say they are hard. When things are great, they say things are great. They don’t fixate on the hard things, rather they are good at working through them and seeing the end goal. They are so great at knowing what their children need when they need it instead of trying to force something because that’s what “all the books say.” I admire this family so much and am so thankful for our friendship.

Also, side note, I’m fairly certain these two boys are going to look like twins in their middle school/high school days. They are so stinking adorable and the perfect combination of Shannan and Kevin.
