The weekend before I shot this home fall family session, I spent some time outside helping my husband blow leaves. We weren’t the only house on the street doing it either. My neighbor was doing it, and the guys across the street were doing it. It was like we all got together and decided to leaf blow at the same time. The day after leaf blowing, I had a mostly outdoor wedding that ended dancing the night away in the cold air. The next day, I had another wedding with the same outdoor layout and the same cold, crisp air. I woke up Monday morning and noticed I was starting to lose my voice. I sucked on cough drops and drank vitamin C drinks, but Tuesday it was a little worse. By Wednesday morning, it was totally gone. By gone, I mean all I could get out was a whisper. Wednesday was the day of the Webb family’s home fall family session. I emailed Dean warning him I could barely talk but otherwise felt fine. I let him know we could reschedule if he wanted, but the weather was PERFECT. Plus, I wouldn’t have any openings until December. They decided to proceed with our time together, and as terrible as I sounded, they somehow interpreted what I was asking them to do and got some absolutely incredible family photos. At some point, I remember asking them if they have photos taken regularly because they are so natural at it. They told me they never have family photos taken, actually. So surprising because they honestly blew me away with how naturally adorable they interacted. Their property at their home is stunning, and we could not have had better light! Thankful they invited me to their home, and even more thankful they put up with my horrible voice so we could take advantage of the beautiful sunlight and golden trees!
