I bet you stopped and looked at that header twice didn’t you? Hawaiian wedding? At Castleton Farms? She must be mistaken. I am not, my friends. It was, indeed, a Hawaiian wedding at Knoxville’s luxury wedding venue Castleton Farms. But how? Well, the bride and her family are from Hawaii. They lived there for most of their lives and love the tropical islands. Kayla moved to Knoxville for graduate school, which is where she met Wesley, and her parents moved inland shortly after. That does not mean they don’t miss it though. Instead of saying goodbye to her dream Hawaiian wedding, however, Kayla brought it to Knoxville. My goodness did she do it well. It really was the perfect combo of East Tennessee fall and tropical goodness. I’m not even sure how Kayla and her mom, Pam, pulled it off, but they totally did. The florals were all Pam’s expertise along with Melissa from Melissa Timm Designs, and they tied in the orange color palette flawlessly. Not to mention how well the leaf color cooperated for their big day. I mean, honestly, it couldn’t have gotten more perfect.
One thing I really loved about Kayla and Wesley’s day was how they unfolded their first look. Instead of the standard first look, they did a first touch that entailed some hand holding, tearing up, and letter reading and flowed directly into their first look. It was really sweet, and Kayla, a very tough attorney, was wiping away tears. I think it made us all choke up.
I am so thankful for the weather we had on Kayla and Wesley’s wedding day. I am also SO incredibly thankful for the Castleton staff for absolutely killing it with all the decor. The reception setup was insane. I cannot wait for you to see it. I definitely overshot it, and there are so many just in the sneak peeks below!
