I cannot explain my excitement for these two. Kari and Brad got married in 2015, which is the year I became a full-time photographer. I also kicked my skill level and my image quality up a notch. To this day, they have an image on my website because I just love it so much. Every year when I update www.amandamayphotos.com, I can’t bring myself to remove it! So, here we are almost 5 years later, and these two are having their first babe! Andersyn Reece Self is so so loved and lives in one GORGEOUSLY decorated home. Since their wedding, I’ve watched from social media as they grew their family. First, with pups, and then, with acres. They have a 30+ acre farm and renovated a gorgeous farmhouse from the inside out. I watched as they remodeled, but when I saw it all put together, it was as jaw-dropping as I imagined. I am SO stoked for their newborn lifestyle session because I get to photograph in all the areas inside their home. Trust me when I tell you, you will not only drool over their adorable newborn, but also over their epic home decor ;-). I’m so thankful they decided to have a farm maternity session on their property. They have a pretty impressive view of House Mountain, an amazing sunset, and so many pretty backdrops. Kari was absolutely glowing, and Brad is totally smitten with the two women he loves most in this world.
I forgot to mention that at the end of their farm maternity session, we went to their neighbor’s house to take some photos in front of the Litton’s black and white barn, and they were also so pretty. They are at the end of the blog post so make sure you scroll all the way to the end!
And a special thank you for making me feel extra special throughout the session as they both asked questions about what it’s like to run Amanda May Photos. So often, people just assume when I tell them I am a professional photographer that it’s a side hustle. It definitely was at one point, but I am so proud to say that it is more than that for me now. Last week, I talked to a group of college students about what it’s like to own your own small business. Then, Brad and Kari were also intrigued by what it’s like for me to run Amanda May Photos. Last week I was feeling extra awesome about this little baby of mine. Please know that I say all of this in total humility and with humbleness… I never want to sound boastful or prideful. I think there are pivotal moments in life and this past week seems pivotal for me. A pivot into people taking me as a more serious business owner vs. just another photographer out there and it makes me so stinking happy!
