I started Talya and Austin’s fall wedding weekend off by joining them for their rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. Long story short, I was coming from an elopement that was in North Carolina, and it was going to put me arriving a little later than I wanted. I asked an associate photographer to come for the first hour until I could get there for the final two hours. When I arrived, I was unloading all my things, setting up my tripods and flashes when Talya came over to me and gave me the actual biggest hug and said, “AMANDA!!! YOU MADE IT!!!!” I immediately felt the warmest, most gracious welcome from the bride herself. She continued to ask me how traffic was, how the drive was, even how well the elopement went. I was beside myself. The fact that she was even thinking about any of that shows what kind of person Talya is. She is thoughtful and kind and makes anyone and everyone feel so welcomed, even her photographer. A few minutes later, I got similar questions from the groom and then the groom’s mom. It took me by so much surprise that everyone there seemed to care about my journey to the rehearsal dinner. These two families are so precious. They are some of the most thoughtful, considerate families I have served. Throughout the reception, Talya’s mom came up to me numerous times making sure I had gotten enough food for dinner and making sure I tried the gelato truck and the dessert shooters. I mean, here I am thinking I am the server for the day. I am the person hired to serve them in any way I can, and they are the ones checking up on me.
I’m overwhelmed with how gorgeous Talya and Austin’s fall wedding was. From the greenery hanging from the ceiling all throughout their reception space to the vintage car we got to use during our portrait time and at the getaway to the to Austin’s white suit jacket and Talya’s perfect dress. The dapper wedding party who were just beaming with smiles all day to the most perfect weather a girl could ask for. While the wind presented a little bit of a challenge, the sun and temperatures cooperated perfectly. The beauty of this wedding is a true reflection of the beauty between Talya and Austin. They had a vision and brought that vision to Castleton Farms who made their fall wedding day dreams come to life. I will be swooning over these photos for years to come, I’m positive of it.
