It’s been a minute since I’ve done a fair engagement session. Only one in my whole career, and it was the Anderson County Fair. So much smaller, and we went before they opened so we had the whole place to ourselves. This was a totally different experience, and because it was actually open, we got to get some really great shots on the ferris wheel, eating a caramel apple, and rides going in the background. Chelsey and Rob are annual fair goers. Each time, Rob wins her a teddy bear, she eats caramel apples, and they get wrist bands to ride all the rides. Of course, that’s what we incorporated with their Tennessee Valley Fair engagement session.
One thing I love about shooting at the fair is how colorful it is. All the bright yellows, blues, and pinks everywhere adds such a fun backdrop. If you’re thinking about having some photos taken at the fair, getting there right when it opens is definitely the way to go. We didn’t have to deal with hardly any people right in our way or walking in front of my camera. It was easy to win a teddy bear because they were the only ones playing. There were no lines for us to get on rides. Also, we had great lighting as you’ll see.
The second half of our session, we went over to Knoxville Botanical Gardens where Chelsey had Picnic in the Park come set up an adorable little picnic for them with a delicious charcuterie board. It was gorgeous, they were perfect, and I’m totally smitten with their final gallery.
