Since I started dating Dustin in 2008, we always travel to his hometown in Somerset, KY to celebrate Easter with his family. They are truly the all-American family with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins who truly enjoy being together. Of course, you will always find someone napping after the feast, but for the most part, everyone loves going outside (assuming it’s pretty weather) to play croquet, hide Easter eggs for the kids (which was just Grayson this year), play basketball, throw some cornhole, or just bathe in the sun on blankets in the grass. There is no drama, no attitudes, just plain, good-ole fun. Do I realize how amazingly blessed I am to have married into such an incredible family, you ask? Yes. Yes, I do. I try to specifically thank God for that regularly in my daily prayers.
So, enjoy some family fun Easter pictures from our 2019 Easter as you scroll below. This year might have had the best weather we have had since the first year I attended this Easter celebration with Dustin back in 2009. I think we were all just eating it up! Including Grayson with his dye stained hands he used to find the eggs that somehow never dried from the night before. Also, yes, he owns an Easter basket, but we accidentally left it in Knoxville so he’s using a birthday sized ice cream tub to hunt his eggs. I sort of love it. I think this will be a tradition and keep his cloth cute Easter basket clean for the gifting :-).
