Emily and Matt drove in from Nashville for their Downtown Knoxville engagement photos, and I don’t think any of us expected it to be as windy as it was. Is it just me or have we been having windstorms a lot this year?? On this particular day, it was windy and cold, and I felt terrible for Emily who was basically freezing the entire time. Can you tell in the photos? Because I can’t. She’s a champ and played it cool…er, warm…the whole time.
I loved getting to know these two. Emily and I have so much in common. The more we talked, the more I realized how we are kind of the same person 5 years apart. Then getting to know Matt, I see so much of my husband in him, and they are basically us back in 2013 planning our wedding and having our engagement photos. It’s SO crazy to think how long ago that was. Back when the only wedding dresses to choose from were strapless. Can I just say how thankful I am that there are other choices now? Let’s face it, strapless isn’t for everyone.
After we finished in Downtown Knoxville, we ventured over to Knoxville Botanical Garden. I’ve shot here a million times, but this was Emily and Matt’s first time seeing it in person. Getting to see the garden through fresh eyes was really refreshing to me. Every turn we made, Emily would comment on how gorgeous it is or how she felt like we were in another country because of how unique it is. It reminded me that I have gotten too used to these gardens. They are so gorgeous, and I need to be more intentional about appreciating its beauty and uniqueness!
So, here they are. This adorable couple who braved the wind and freezing temps with me to create these fabulous engagement photos!
