A Crisp Fall Castleton Farms Wedding
Mikayla & Steven’s crisp fall Castleton Farms wedding was the first day this fall that has actually felt like fall. You know those days that the morning requires a jacket, the afternoon will do with a sweater, and the evening you can wrap up in the blanket around a firepit? While they are a bit hard to dress for, those are my absolute favorite kind of fall days. I am totally smitten with Mikayla and Steven’s wedding day. From the gorgeous sage dresses and her stunning gown to the way Steven would pinch the bridge of his nose every time he was almost ready to cry… the whispies that flowed with the breeze hanging around Mikayla’s face and the way the fireworks illuminated a crowd that stood in total of awe of the most perfect ending to the most perfect day. There is no doubt in my mind that Mikayla and Steven will be reminiscing this crisp fall Castleton Farms day for the rest of their lives.
P.S. The song Time of Our Lives that plays at the end of the movie Dirty Dancing where Patrick Swazy lifts Jennifer Gray in the air and spins her around. Everyone knows the moment even if you haven’t seen the movie. It’s epic and a legendary lift. That song was played as one of the last songs of the reception and Mikayla ran to Steven and Steven did actually lift Mikayla pretty high without any teetering. Everyone went crazy and were screaming and highfiving him. Then Mikayla’s mom (the world champion rollerskater… literally) ran and Mikayla’s dad lifted her all the way in the air and actually did the spin. Everyone also went crazy. There have been so many times in my career where that song comes on and it ends poorly in every situation. Not one single time has it worked out well for the people trying to do the lift. But at this wedding, not only did it work once, it worked TWO times so beautifully. It was such a cool moment watching everyone cheer and celebrate. You’ll see photos of both events unfolding below. So so so fun! What a cool way to end the open dance floor!
