A Ritzy Carnegie Hotel Engagement Session

Okay okay, the title is a little deceiving. There is a famous Carnegie you aaaaallll have heard of. It’s a historic little place in New York, and in case it’s just not coming to you, it’s Carnegie Hall. This session was not at Carnegie Hall, but at Carnegie Hotel in Johnson City, TN. Although not the same place, this hotel has those same Great Gatsby vibes, and this Carnegie Hotel engagement session embodied them.

As we planned her engagement session, Katie emailed me and said, “How extra is too extra? I found these evening gowns I want to do with David in a suit, but that’s WAY too extra isn’t it???” Um no, my friend. There is no such thing as too extra when it comes to engagement photos. However extra or basic you want to go is perfect because it’s you, and I want your engagement photos to be a reflection of you.

Then, I saw her gowns. Oh my word. I’m so glad she went extra because Katie’s retro vibe is what paired with the aesthetic of the location and made this Carnegie Hotel engagement session absolutely stunning.

Katie and David are literally the most adorable humans. They were so chill and laid back and totally and completely trusted me with whatever I asked them to do. Even when I told Katie to sit on a luggage carrier and David to push her in front of the front door in her long white chiffon dress. They didn’t even second guess it. Turns out, those are some of my favorite images from this Carnegie Hotel engagement session. They are also getting married at this hotel, and if this is how fun the engagement session was, I can’t imagine what the wedding is going to be like!
