Cades Cove Proposal in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park

At the beginning of this week, I got to take Cades Cove proposal pictures for Jordan and Hope. I cannot tell you how much I LOVE proposals. They are tricky and can be logistically challenging, but they are SO. MUCH. FUN. Jordan and Hope are touring all the national parks, and this was their first stop. They got their little national park passport stamped with the date, and little did Hope know it would also be the day she would say, “Yes!” to her future husband!

They drove the whole loop of Cades Cove before they circled back to stop at the spot you see below. It’s one of the first spots on the loop with an epic view, and there happened to be deer out across the street. Jordan does landscape and animal photography so it made sense to stop. I was planted in the middle of the field taking photos of “the scenery” and “the animals.” Jordan asked Hope to step into the field, and he wanted to take some photos of her walking away. He put his camera down, got the ring out, and I took over the photo taking from there. It was precious. Her smile was so big, his smile was so big, and they hugged each other extra long after the ring was on her finger.

When planning a proposal, I LOVE when the groom reaches out to me. It adds in one more step that I get to work with them and tell more of their story. This is the first time I’ve done a Cades Cove proposal, and although Cades Cove typically proves to be very logistically challenging, it worked out more than perfect for Jordan and Hope. It was totally bare (pun intended if you know anything about Cades Cove) so there were no cars in their back drop and not many people stopping to gawk. It was just them, me, and the mountains. I’m super thankful to have been there for this milestone in their relationship. I cannot wait to see how the Lord continues their journey!
