1 Year Old Session at this Broadway Studio
It seems like every time we book a day for Myles’s milestone sessions it ends up raining. I texted Alysha last minute, and we scrambled to find an indoor location to make it work where I could use my flash. Of course, once we got to the indoor location, it worked out better than if we had done the outside location. For his 1 year session, we used balls and balloons and a little banner. Since we were indoors, we had somewhere to hang the banner. Since we were indoors, there were walls to prevent the balls from going EVERYWHERE and chasing them down constantly. Since we were indoors, the balloons just floated up without blowing violently in any tiny little breeze that passed. Myles is also walking so being indoors helped contain him a little more. Instead of feeling like he had an entire park to explore, he was limited to just being in the Broadway Studio setting. We had a bed for him to sit on, a cute chair, a couch, a neutral-colored floor. I do love shooting outside, don’t get me wrong, but if we have to move indoors, it’s definitely not the end of the world. I offer to every portrait client to reschedule if it rains or to find an indoor location. It’s about half and half on what they choose, but when we do end up inside, I love the photos just as much as if we had done them outside!
I can’t believe little Myles is one. I am so excited to see him become a big brother. He is absolutely so precious, and I’m so thankful I will get to see this family every few months for another year!
