Apple Barn Engagement Session

Erin and Justin live in Michigan. Erin found me because she was a bridesmaid in her brother’s Knoxville wedding a few years ago. As soon as she got engaged, she reached out to me and told me she had to have me as her photographer. Before she even reached out to other vendors. Don’t mind me over here. I’m just a puddle because I’m literally melting with joy. This is one of the most flattering things that can happen to a wedding photographer. It makes our hearts skip a beat. Takes our breath away. Plus, all the other clichés out there. After they picked a date and booked their venue, they let me know, and we secured their 2020 October Saturday. One of the first things I do with a couple right after they become official clients is reach out to schedule the engagement session. Initially, Erin and Justin wanted to do photos in the Michigan football stadium. They are HUGE wolverine fans. Since I was coming to Michigan for the wedding, they decided to make a trip to Knoxville to have Apple Barn engagement photos instead. It just so happened they booked me right around the time I took Courtni and Jacob’s Apple Barn engagement photos, and as soon as Erin saw them, she fell in love. As did I so I couldn’t be more excited when they decided to take me back for more Apple Barn engagement photos! Courtni and Jacob did more summer-y colors while Erin and Justin did fall colors, and I love them both equally as much!

Also, I must throw in there that the weather was a huge factor for them. I mean, they did come down from Michigan, which isn’t a trip you can just take all the time. As the weekend was approaching, it was calling for rain on Sunday. I was nervous and texting with Erin telling her we may need to move them to Saturday. I really didn’t want it to be rainy for these! Especially when she was comparing it to Courtni and Jacob’s, which had BEAUTIFUL clear skies and gorgeous light. Then on Friday, I checked one more time and all the rain moved to Saturday and Sunday was calling for clear skies! We woke up on Sunday to drizzles. Ugh. I checked the forecast again. The first half of the day was wet and cloudy. The second half of the day was partly cloudy. If I could insert the emoji with its hand on its forehead…that’s what I was doing at that moment. No joke, you guys…I got off at exit 407, and as I got closer and closer to the Apple Barn, the skies got clearer and clearer. Then, 10 minutes before our start time, out popped the sun! It stayed out until the very end, and o.m.g. was it totally gorg! But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
