Nine Month Twins Milestone Session || Hayes & Hudson

Nine months of double the smiles, double the personality, and so much love in one bright White Room session

There are some families that become so much more than clients over the years. The Armstrong family is absolutely one of those for me. Katie and Lucas first stepped in front of my camera as a bride and groom. Since then, I’ve had the incredible privilege of documenting so many of their biggest milestones. From welcoming sweet Landry into the world to photographing her as she became the best big sister. To now watching twin boys Hayes and Hudson grow, it’s been such a joy to witness their family’s story unfold.

If you’ve followed my work for any length of time, chances are you’ve seen this family pop up on my blog or social media more than once. They are such a special part of the Amanda May Photos family. Every session with them feels like catching up with old friends.

Their nine month twins milestone session took place at The White Room, which continues to be one of my favorite places for milestone portraits. The clean, bright studio allows every bit of attention to stay on what matters most. The personalities, expressions, and connections between a growing family.

At nine months old, Hayes and Hudson are at such a fun stage. They were full of smiles, curious about everything around them, and perfectly content showing off their growing personalities. Photographing twins is always a little adventure because each baby brings something completely different to the session. One might be busy exploring while the other is all smiles for the camera. Then, they’ll switch roles five minutes later! It keeps every session fun, spontaneous, and completely unique.

Of course, we couldn’t forget about big sister Landry. Watching her interact with her little brothers is one of my favorite parts of photographing this family. She is so sweet with them, and seeing the three of them together made for some of my favorite images from the day. These are the kinds of photos that will only become more meaningful as the years go by.

One of the things I love most about photographing milestone sessions is getting to see how much children change in such a short amount of time. Nine months is filled with so many exciting developments. It’s such a wonderful season to preserve before babies become busy toddlers running in every direction.

Outside of photography, Katie has also become someone I genuinely enjoy working alongside. She helps me with social media for my business, so we stay in touch far beyond our photo sessions. But that’s not the only thing she’s incredibly talented at.

A few weeks ago, Dustin and I surprised our kids with their very first Disney vacation to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. I had only been to Disney once before when I was in high school, and I got so sick during that trip that I barely remember any of it. Planning a Disney vacation felt overwhelming until Katie stepped in to help us.

She truly worked magic.

She helped us think through every detail, answered countless questions, and created a plan that made our trip feel easy and enjoyable. We visited Magic Kingdom on a Friday and Animal Kingdom on a Saturday during one of the busiest, hottest times of the summer, and somehow, our experience couldn’t have gone better. We accomplished so much without feeling rushed, and our kids had the most incredible first Disney memories. All because Katie knew exactly how to navigate the parks.

If you’re planning a Disney vacation, I can’t recommend Katie enough. She’s an incredible Disney vacation planner, and if you’re someone who loves all things Disney, you should absolutely follow her Instagram/TikTok account, @magically.katieb. Her page is full of helpful tips, inspiration, and plenty of Disney magic.

Katie and Lucas, thank you once again for trusting me with another chapter of your family’s story. It has been such an honor to photograph your journey from your wedding day to this beautiful season of life, and I already can’t wait to see all of you again for the next milestone.
