Sunrise Marblegate Farm Engagement || Haley & John

An early morning session that brought a fresh perspective (and the dreamiest light) to one of my favorite East Tennessee venues

Haley & John’s sunrise Marblegate Farm engagement was drop dead gorgeous. From the couple to the light to the fresh perspective of the property, the whole thing was stunning.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing so many weddings and sessions at Marblegate Farm over the years that I feel like I know the property inside and out. From golden hour portraits to dreamy ceremony backdrops, I’ve seen this venue shine in just about every way imaginable. But somehow, in all that time, I had never once photographed a sunrise session there.

And let me tell you, it completely changed everything.

When you’re someone who prioritizes light in every location decision, switching from sunset to sunrise flips your entire creative process. The way the light filters across the fields, and how it wraps softly around the silos. It all felt brand new. This sunrise Marblegate Farm engagement gave me such a fresh perspective on a place I already loved, and somehow made me love it even more.

So, how did we end up at sunrise?

Haley & John made the trip all the way from Memphis for their engagement session, and when the forecast suddenly shifted to a full afternoon of rain, I knew we had to pivot quickly. Rescheduling wasn’t an option, but sunrise was. I sent the message, we made the plan, and they were all in.

What makes this even more impressive is they didn’t get into town until late the night before. And yet, there they were at 8am. On time, smiling, full of energy, and looking absolutely incredible. That kind of attitude says so much about who they are and alluded to how wonderful the session was going to run.

The quiet stillness of the morning paired with their joy created such a peaceful, genuine atmosphere. It felt unhurried, intimate, and completely them.

I’m also so thankful to Court & Cheryl at Marblegate for helping make this happen so seamlessly. Having a venue team that’s willing to work with shifting plans makes all the difference.

This sunrise Marblegate Farm engagement is easily one of my new favorites. Not just because of the light or the location but because of the people and the story behind it. Haley & John, you two made waking up early more than worth it. I cannot wait for your wedding day!
