A September Backyard Wedding

I include an engagement session in both wedding collections I offer for 8+ hour wedding days. I encourage couples to take advantage of the engagement session, but sometimes, they’ve already had engagement photos done by the time they hire me. The latter is true for Cynethia and Kenneth so instead of having another engagement session, Cynethia had me photograph her bridal shower. This bridal shower was unlike any bridal shower I’ve ever been to. There were so many activities. A get-to-know-each-other game, a how-well-do-you-know-the-couple game, and designing wedding gowns out of toilet paper. Every single person in that room participated, and it was so much fun. The same was true at Cynethia and Kenneth’s backyard wedding. Everyone participated in everything. My favorite part of this backyard wedding was Cynethia singing to Kenneth while she stood at the top of the aisle beside her dad. Her voice is magical. It was a breathtaking moment.

I’m excited to have the Smith wedding ready for you guys! I haven’t shot a ton of backyard weddings, but I will say, this one was set up so creatively. They used their spaces so efficiently and even provided an iPad live feed down at the lower level on a giant TV for people who didn’t want to get up and walk across the bridge. I’m not sure it could have been organized any better than what they organized it.
