When Dustin and I got to the house buying part of our relationship, I wanted to buy a condo downtown and live right in the middle of downtown Knoxville and walk everywhere and go to the farmer’s market and take my kids to world’s fair site to play. Dustin, however, wanted to buy a house an hour outside of Knoxville somewhere in the country and own a bunch of land and have a farm house and do all the country things. What do you do in a marriage when you have two opposite opinions on something so monumental? You meet in the middle. We started browsing the Old North area and I just fell in love with the houses there. The old character and the big porches and the massive trees. But since these houses did not come with driveways, Dustin vetoed it and we moved a little further North to Fountain City where we ended up finding an old, restored home, but with a driveway and is where we currently reside. The Spencer family did choose Old North though and oh my gooooooosh, their home is to DIE for. It’s adorable and old and has so much character and history but has also been restored to an absolute beauty updating all the parts that need updating to make life easier and decorating it in the most amazing way. I left their session, came home and told Dustin I was ready to sell all of our furniture and completely redecorate our home. Although I’m not sure I could ever make it as cute as what Sara did in the Spencer home because goodness, it’s amazing. My jaw literally dropped to the floor when I walked in the door!
