On the questionnaire I send to my couples before their wedding day, it asks if there are any specific places where they want to take photos at their venue. Of course, they don’t have to fill this in, but sometimes, there are very specific spots the couples want so this is a good way for me to make sure I get it for them! On Bonnie’s questionnaire, the spots she wanted took me to a different side of the property than where I normally take the bride and groom. I made sure to get her exact spot, and then, I branched out around those areas and started shooting with backdrops I’ve never shot with at Castleton before. I am IN LOVE! Especially at the end with their sunset photos in the field with the tall grass. omg. Just wait until you see those, guys. This day may have been the Alabama vs. Tennessee football game, but it was also peak color for this Castleton Farms fall wedding. it. was. gorgeous.
There are some things Bonnie and Sadler did at their wedding that I just love and are different than the norm. 1. Bonnie had a veil, but it was not attached to her head. Rather, her veil hooked onto the back of her dress right at the base of her straps. It had buttons so there was no chance of it falling off, and it didn’t yank her head back all day. It didn’t cover up her beautiful hair or cause her to have a headache. It was perfect. 2. Sadler’s mom gave Bonnie a piece of Sadler’s baby blanket to sew into a layer of her dress. It was so sweet, and when the bridesmaids saw it, they literally started crying. It was her old, borrowed, and blue! 3. They had DELICIOUS homemade baklava beside their cake for people who didn’t want cake. Chef’s kiss here because wow it was so good. 4. They didn’t do the typical fall colors. Instead of maroon, burnt orange, and dark green, they used white and champagne. It was stunning. Seriously. My jaw dropped when I walked into the reception space. Can we just talk about how good all of her girls looked in their group shots? I also love when the guys do the classic black suits! 5. They got to host the best Tennessee victory party in all of Knoxville! I mean, I’m sure it wasn’t ideal that this day was also a legendary game, but honestly, what better way to celebrate than with all of your favorite people gathered around you. It was so cool witnessing everyone’s reactions to that winning field goal. They all ran out to the dance floor yelling while the DJ put on Rocky Top and people jumped for literally 2.5 minutes.
This day was just so beautiful. Sadler and Bonnie could be hired as models if they wanted to be, which Sadler definitely doesn’t and is done taking pictures for at least 37,420,494 days 😂 All joking aside, I absolutely loved getting to photograph these two. I loved even more that at the reception I got a photo with THREE AMP brides; Bonnie, Christina, & Katie!
