Urban Elopement in Downtown Knoxville with Jordann & Dean
Jordann and Dean are not from Knoxville, but they recently moved here for their jobs. While they searched for a place to rent or buy, they set up shop in one of our downtown hotels. They spent actual weeks there because of this crazy housing market, but it allowed them to try all kinds of fun downtown things. They ended up falling in love with it, and chose to do their urban elopement in Downtown Knoxville.
If Dustin and I had eloped, it would have been really hard to choose between exactly what Jordann and Dean planned and somewhere out in the middle of nowhere in Colorado with an epic mountain view. I don’t know what we would have chosen, but if we did the urban elopement route, I would do it exactly like Jordann and Dean. We kicked it off with a quiet morning in a downtown loft with Jordann’s hair and makeup artists. She was getting pampered with locally catered breakfast and a couple of her best girls there to keep her company. We did a rooftop first look then wandered around downtown finding the most BEAUTIFUL fall color and light as we made our way to the Knox County Courthouse. The courthouse was closed for Veteran’s Day, which I think was for the best. They got married on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse and had beautiful fall trees and pretty brick arches as the backdrop. Their closest friends and family were in attendance, and afterwards, we did some family photos and a few portraits of the two of them before heading to the rooftop bar on top of The Hyatt. It put us with a GORGEOUS city and mountain view right at sunset, and we got even more photos of the two of them while we waited for their crew to show up. We did some toasting, and they had some charcuterie boards as an appetizer before we went to the Oliver Royale for their official dinner. We took one pitstop in The Peter Kern Library, and then, headed into The Oliver Royale where Jordann had designed a stunning reception tablescape. They did a cake cutting and a toast, and then, I left them to enjoy their dinner.
It was so intimate and so romantic, and we could focus on doing all the things that are important to them. Including spending some real quality time with their friends and family. They got EPIC photos, didn’t feel rushed, and had delicious drinks and food. They spent the weekend together with their people, and I could tell what a true joy it brought both of them.
This elopement was amazing and so much fun, and if we could do them ALL like this, I would totally want to shoot more! Also, this post contains both their engagement photos and their elopement photos because we did them two days apart!
