Alana and Nick chose the most perfect venue for their black tie wedding. If there is any event space in Knoxville that lends itself to a high-end, black tie soirée, it’s The Press Room. While we were in the getting ready suite, I told Alana how much I love the ceremony setup she designed. It was so different than anything I had seen before. The chairs were set more in a long oval, and the bridal party stood in a flying V formation with Alana and Nick standing right in the center of the oval. She told me how excited she was for the party, but she wanted her guests to be a part of their ceremony as well. She wanted the ceremony to be special and important, and she wanted all of her guests to be able to see their faces and hear their words. In a traditional ceremony setup, often times, the people in the middle to back rows can’t see or hear the majority of the ceremony. This way, however, they would be part of it. You can see in the photos towards the end of the ceremony a shot of all the guests lifting up their hands in support of Alana and Nick’s commitment to one another. The way Alana explained how she wanted her ceremony to unfold in that conversation in her getting ready area is exactly how it unfolded. Halfway through, Nick took Alana’s hands and kissed them as the officiant spoke, and you could hear every guest give a hearfelt, “aaawwweeee.” It was just really touching and really sweet, and I’m so glad it went exactly the way they wanted it to.
This day was amazing. Alana and Nick could not have looked more stunning, and they really know how to throw a crazy awesome party. I’m super thankful they had me as part of their day, and I can’t wait for you to see the highlights from their day!
