Wednesday Wedding at Hunter Valley || Katrina & Stephen

A Rainy Wednesday Wedding at Hunter Valley Farm

This Wednesday wedding at Hunter Valley Farm was so sweet and precious. There was some rain, but thankfully, the Lord brought it in during all the indoor moments of the day. Of course, the outdoor ceremony had to be moved indoors, but it was still absolutely gorgeous. It sprinkled on and off from the time of the ceremony to about 1 hour before the reception ended. After that, the sun peeked out, and we had pretty golden light while Katrina and Stephen visited Stephen’s grandfather’s gravesite. It may sound like an odd thing to do on your wedding day, but Stephen and his grandfather were really close. Stephen serves in the Air Force and lost his granddad while he was deployed. It was a very sweet, special moment of him putting a set of Air Force wings in the dirt beside the gravestone. This moment was very emotional. They asked me to photograph it, and I’m so honored they invited me in to such an intimate moment. It is such a vulnerable thing to let a photographer into some of these intensely emotional moments. I don’t take for granted that my clients are lowering emotional walls in front of me. Someone they don’t even know that well. That is a hard thing to do, and it is just such an honor to be able to preserve these sweet sweet moments for them. I’m not going to lie, it also usually brings tears to my eyes. As one of the bridesmaids said at this Wednesday wedding, I become a team crier 😂
