So many things about this wedding at The Glass House that made it unique. First of all, one of the words I kept hearing the bridesmaids use in the getting ready suite was eclectic. They were describing Holly or gifts that Holly had given or wedding decor she had made and eclectic was a consistent vibe. Then during the ceremony, the officiant gathered words from friends and family to describe the couple and on Holly’s descriptors, eclectic kept coming up. As the day unfolded and I got to see her wedding dress, bouquet pin, the groom’s suit, their suit pins, the cake, the wedding favor, the photobooth props, the cake, and so much more, I couldn’t help but whole heartedly agree to this. Holly and JT are an eclectic couple, and they pulled this styling together in an absolutely STUNNING way.
Some of the especially different things I really appreciated and thought looked so good was Holly’s wedding dress that was hand sewn by a women’s prohibition group in the early 1900s. She found it on Micardi in someone’s attic and hired a seamstress that did a phenomenal job at making it fit Holly flawlessly and still maintain it’s original Victorian essence. I also loved the double breasted black suits JT and his groomsmen wore. In all my days of photographing weddings, I’ve never seen a double breasted men’s suit on a groom, and it looked so great! When I saw Holly and JT’s black wedding cake, my jaw dropped. It looked SO good and tasted really good, too! Shoutout to All Mixed Up Cakes for always doing an amazing job. Lastly, because I know there are some Chacos lovers here in East Tennessee, Holly and all her girls wore Chacos with their dresses. Holly did have a fancier pair of heels she wore for portraits and the ceremony but ultimately ended up in her personalized Chacos. Her girls, however, wore them the whole day. Talk about comfort. There were no issues off-roading, there were no complaints about feet hurting, just pure joy!
This wedding at The Glass House was so much fun and so unique. In an effort to not write an entire novel, I’ll let you guys look through the reception photos to see all the “activities” they had for their guests to do. My personal favorite was the canvas they let their guests paint on. I added my own little touch to it before the end of the night.
