Anna and Sawyer’s Seven Islands engagement session was filled with laughter, adventure, and even a little unexpected rain. Truly, these two are one of the most fun couples to be around! From the moment we met, it was easy to see how perfectly they complement one another.
Sawyer is clean-cut, organized, and methodical. The kind of person who appreciates having a thoughtful plan, like myself. Anna brings a wonderfully different energy to their relationship. She is spontaneous and adventurous, and she fills every conversation with the sweetest giggles. Their personalities balance each other in such a natural and adorable way. Watching them interact throughout the session made it clear that they genuinely enjoy doing life together.
As we explored the park, I loved hearing about their wedding planning adventures and honeymoon ideas. Our conversations made the entire session fly by!
If you have ever visited Seven Islands State Birding Park, you know the walk to the bridge is quite long. It usually gives us the perfect opportunity to talk and get to know one another better. I typically save the bridge for the end so we don’t use valuable daylight for the longer walk.
This time, however, I decided to change the plan. There had been very little chance of rain that day until our session began, and all of a sudden a shower popped up out of nowhere. Anna and Sawyer drove more than an hour for their session, and I didn’t want us to be caught in a downpour at the furthest point from the parking lot. Therefore, we began at the bridge and gradually worked our way back, finishing closer to the cars as the rain likelihood increased.
I am so glad we did because it actually began to sprinkle near the end of their Seven Islands engagement session! In some of the photographs of Anna wearing her beautiful green dress, you can see the raindrops falling around them. Rather than disrupting the evening, the rain made those moments feel even more magical.
This session was such a joyful reminder that sometimes the unexpected moments become the most memorable ones. I truly cannot wait to photograph Anna and Sawyer’s wedding and celebrate this next chapter with them. Until then, I am so excited to share their beautiful engagement photos.
