The River Place Styled Shoot

I don’t do a ton of styled shoots because of the whole time thing. It’s hard and takes a lot of time to basically plan a mini wedding. Lots of details, lots of coordinating, lots of time. In another season of life where I didn’t have two young kiddos, I would be planning styled shoots in Ireland and Hawaii and definitely Paris… but right now… in this season, I just don’t get to do many. Enter Devynn. This incredible wedding planner that runs The Magnolia venue and owns and runs The River Place venue (both in Sevierville). She designed this River Place styled shoot that was absolutely stunning and asked me to be a part of it.

Because I’ve only done a few and I’m not even sure I blogged those, let me tell you the point of doing styled shoots. As creatives, our minds are constantly thinking of new ideas and seeing things in different ways, but ultimately, it’s up to you (the bride and groom) how your actual wedding day plays out (as it should be). As you plan you are influenced by other weddings you’ve been to, your friends opinions, pinterest, and your own taste. As wedding vendors see more and more and more weddings, we gather all these little pieces and we start to envision what it would be like to take this piece from this wedding, this piece from this wedding, and that piece from this other wedding and put them all together. We get to see all these beautiful details and rearrange them into a new puzzle to create something beautiful… introducing styled shoots. When we have ideas that we want to show you but no way to do that in real life… we host a styled shoot. Our hope is that some planning bride somewhere will see our new puzzle and be inspired to have it as part of her own wedding day. There are a few other incentives like publications, going viral, teaching other vendors, and simply our own social media content that also play a roll, but mainly we do this in a styled shoot in hopes to get the opportunity to do it at a real wedding. And you guys…. after you look through these photos and see all these details… I’m positive that some of you will walk away wanting to implement some of them on your special day! And in case that happpens, here is a list of vendors that helped this River Place styled shoot go as smoothly as possible!
