There is so much backstory with this couple I want to share before we dive into wedding day details. Let’s start back when Channing’s bff reached out to me about photographing her proposal. You can see the images from that session here! Channing had prayed for the man she was going to marry for so long, and she never expected it to be someone she had grown up with all along. Channing and Ryan were in youth group together, and they now lead worship together at that same church. Hearing them share about their story as we adventured around Neyland Stadium really opened my eyes to how much they love the Lord. To see God working in every inch of their lives and for them to share all those sweet details with me. It’s no wonder they had a prayer-filled wedding day.
Fast forward to their first few days of wedding planning, and Channing reached out to me about photographing her and Ryan’s wedding. They were between two dates. One I had available, and the other I did not. They landed on July 13th, but I already had a wedding that day. She shopped around for a different photographer, but we reconnected when she just wasn’t having any luck finding one she really loved and connected with. I discussed the option of having an associate shooter, and she was immediately excited. I shared with her Cyd’s name and account and told her how much she loved the Lord as well. It seemed like an obvious pairing as soon as the words came out of my mouth. Sure enough, that’s where they landed, and Cyd got to shoot their engagement session.
At their engagement session, I had a scheduling error that caused a little stress and cost them a little glorious sunshine time. I apologized profusely, and they showed me such forgiveness and grace. Again, alluding to the fact they would have a very prayer-filled wedding day.
Now, the day has arrived. Cyd and Tasha are photographing their wedding at Marblegate Farm, and Cyd shoots me a text saying how she prayed for both of us to have incredible days and opportunities to shine the light of Christ into the weddings we were serving and that things would go smoothly. As the day began to unfold, there were so many moments of prayer. Wedding party members praying over Channing and Ryan. Family members praying. Of course, the ceremony was prayer-filled, but even at the reception there guests would just come up and pray for them. Sweet Cyd also got to pray over Channing in a moment that helped ease nerves and refocus on joy. I just love that it was such a prayer-filled wedding day. Nothing more peaceful than inviting the Lord so intimately into your day!
