I’ve shot at a lot of resorts in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for destination weddings over the past couple years. They always have beautiful views, but this Parkside Resort destination wedding really showed me a different side of the Smoky Mountain cabin vibe. These cabins are so modern. They weren’t logs of orange wood stacked together and decorated in cheesy mountain themes. They were GORGEOUS houses with modern, granite kitchens, cute decor, comfy furniture, and the most incredible porches I’ve ever seen to sit on and look at the beautiful views. My family and I have thrown around the idea of doing a Thanksgiving/Christmas middle weekend in the mountains at a cabin to enjoy some quiet time together amidst the INSANE holiday season, and if and when that idea comes to fruition, I will definitely recommend the cabins I saw at this Parkside Resort destination wedding.
Lindsey and Nick are from Ohio. They had their two ADORABLE kiddos, their families, and their friends at their Parkside Resort destination wedding to support them as they said their vows. My favorite thing about this wedding was how involved Lindsey & Nick’s children were. I absolutely loved how they did not try to control their kids…they just let them be kids. During the ceremony when Emie, their little girl, wanted Nick to pick her up as Lindsey, her dad, and Damon (their little boy) walked down the aisle, Nick did not push her away or tell her to go sit with her grandmother. He picked her up, and together they watched their bride/mommy walk towards them. Again, during the ceremony when Damon wanted to be held by Lindsey and play with her flowers, Lindsey didn’t tell him to be quiet and go sit down, she picked him up and even exchanged rings with him in her arms. It made for some of the most authentic, adorable ceremony pictures. I can’t wait for you to see the one of Lindsey and Damon looking at each other with Damon’s mouth wide open. I don’t think either kid understood the significance of what their parents were doing at this moment, but when they look back at these photos, I think they will be thankful that their parents let them participate so openly in the ceremony of mom and dad becoming husband and wife.
