Melton Hill Park engagement sessions can be tricky with lighting. The sun sets right behind a huge hill so you don’t actually get to see the sun go all the way down the horizon. If you time it right, however, you can get the sun peaking out right over top of the hill. As the sun gets lower and is blocked by the hill, you can follow the greenway for some more sunlight. Then as it gets hidden again, you can go even further back for the glowy light again. Timing this can be hard though because if you miss it the first time or get there too early with it too high in the sky, it’s just hard to sync the timing back up in all the locations. With Lauren and Harrison’s Melton Hill Park engagement though, we timed it the most perfect I’ve ever timed it. We started their session almost exactly 1.5 hours before sunset, and it was literally perfect.
Couple the great lighting with their adorable little pup and their super joyful smiles, and I have way too many photos I love from this session. It was hard to narrow it down for the blog and even harder to get it down to the few I share on Instagram! Sometimes, when it gets really hard to narrow down, I just close my eyes and pick one 😂
