I can’t tell you how long it has been since I had a Saturday off in October. I’m talking years. I didn’t plan it that way at first for this year, but there were two weekends where I booked Sunday weddings with no Saturday weddings. One of the weekends was October 13/14, and the other one is this coming weekend. Knowing that the leaves would probably be more colorful later in October, I booked a couple portrait sessions on the later Saturday, but I tried my best to keep the 13th open. I ended up having a sunrise session, but that was fine because afterwards I had the WHOLE day to do all the fall things! It’s a little bit overwhelming trying to do all of your fall bucket list items in one day. I will tell you, if you’re going to attempt it, do it at Oakes Farm because they have like half of the things on your list all in one place and all for one ticket price! Here were the top 10 things on my bucket list:
As you can see, Oakes Farm completed half of that list! It really is a great place to take kids, and we even got to do it with a set of our closest friends! Sophie is their little girl, and she is about 3 months younger than Grayson. It was so much fun and quite hilarious watching them interact. They did not know what to do with one another. It was the first cold day of the season so both kids were really confused from the fact that it was 90 degrees with 90% humidity just 2 days before this, and now, they were wearing toboggans. I’m excited to share these with you though. Grayson’s favorite part was definitely the big blow up bouncy thing. He was cracking up. His least favorite part was carving the pumpkin. Textures usually do not bother him, but just wait until you see his face when he touched the pumpkin guts [insert laughing crying emoji here]. Also, it is hilarious when you get to the goat feeding pictures. Dustin was helping Grayson feed them with handfuls of food, but when it was Grayson’s turn to do it on his own, he started handing the goats one single piece of food at a time. WHYYYY is he SO cute?!?!?! Anyways, I captioned some photos individually so keep scrolling!
Look how much taller he is than Sophie… bahahahaha… we have a HUGE child. They are 3 months apart, ya’ll.
Yeah… so he also really loved the slide. That happy face. I’m dying.
He wasn’t so sure at first… then once Dustin got up there with him… he was all OVER that thing.
They were watching pumpkins being shot out of a canon at an old car… this is a completely candid moment.
If you could hear his cackle while dustin is holding him and jumping like this.
Once piece at a time above until Dustin was like… buddy… they need a whole hand full.
I LOVE this above.
No big deal, Soph was just blowing kisses to all the people on the tractor ride.
Of course the first thing Grayson wants to do at the pumpkin patch is pick up the biggest pumpkin he can find.
Oakes Farm was totally worth it!
Wait for it…
