Norris Dam Family Session
A grandmother, a mom, a dad, two daughters, and one son-in-law. It’s always interesting to photograph a Norris Dam family session with adult children. I do it at the beach every year on family vacations with the Fothergills, but it’s not something that happens as often as family sessions with little kids. See, with little kids, there’s always something going on that should probably be photographed. The kids never sit still. They’re finding rocks and leaves and sticks and running around everywhere. With adult children, however, there is none of that (obviously, haha). So, when I’m photographing a big Norris Dam family session with adult children, I get to spend more time on the relationship that they share. The relationship between these 6 people is a good one. I especially LOVED the way the women all laugh and snuggle up close like they love each other (because they really really do love each other). When I had all four ladies out in front of the camera, every now and then I would get a glimpse of dad and hubby behind me with big ole goofy grins on their faces watching these women be beautiful together. Admiring the women they had become, and when I asked them to join, they came into the group like pillars of the family. There for all the ladies to lean on when they needed it. You know what? Sally (momma) really did need it because she was healing from a broken ankle! I would have never known because she was a champ with all of our walking and never complained one time!
It was so much fun shooting this sweet Norris Dam family session. Norris did not disappoint because, well, it’s gorgeous.
