A Cloudy Norris Dam Engagement Session
Krystina and Jared wanted to do their engagement photos at Norris Dam because that is where Jared proposed. So appropriate, right?? The day of their session, the rain forecast changed 15 times, but they came in from out of town so there was no changing it. I did decide to bump it up a little earlier, and we were expecting to end with a monsoon and a very Notebook kiss-in-the-rain vibe. God had other plans, however, and the rain ended up holding off for us after all.
I learned quickly that Krystina is a smiler. She smiles and laughs a lot, and it’s one of my favorite things about her. Getting them to authentically laugh was the easiest part of their session when sometimes that can be the hardest. Plus, Jared adores her. The way he looks at her is all it takes for anyone to know how much he adores her. It’s precious, really.
Krystina warned me before their engagement session that Jared doesn’t really enjoy taking pictures. I get it. Most guys don’t, and that’s okay. When I know they don’t, it then becomes a challenge for me to go above and beyond to make sure they are surprised at how different their photo experience was with me vs. their photo experiences in the past. I’m hopeful I was able to change Jared’s mind, at least a little bit, about having his photo taken. Especially with his beautiful fiancée. After all, it does make it so much easier when you’re doing it with the person you’re about to marry!
