Oh, you guys. I am so excited to share this sweet, precious newborn studio session with you! Dustin and I have known the McElroys for a couple of years now. They were a part of our very first small group, and I’ll never forget how welcoming Emily made me feel. Within the first month of joining, she reached out to me and asked to go get lunch. Being the new people in a group can be intimidating when there are numerous other couples coming every week, but getting to be one-on-one with Emily was just what I needed to feel more comfortable. Believe it or not, I am not an extrovert and contributing to group discussion when I don’t know the people present is super hard for me. And right now, I think all my life group girls are saying whaaaaaatt??? You talk ALL the time!!! but it’s a totally different story after I’m well acquainted with everyone. And also all my wedding clients are like whaaaaaattt???? You were so so so outgoing at our wedding! But that is how I know the Lord is using me because it just happens so naturally when I’m in professional mode, shooting. Anyway, point is, Emily is such a treasured friend of mine, and I don’t think she ever knew how much of an impact she made just by inviting me to lunch that first month (well, until now because I just told her). I am absolutely thrilled for her to enter into this new season of motherhood, and she couldn’t do it without Scott right there beside her. If there were ever two people more made for each other it was these two. Usually, when parents show up to my studio with the baby, the mom gets her out, changes her, feeds her, gets her to sleep, and dad just watches, very supportively, but usually watches. But when they sat her carseat down, and she started whining a bit, Scott bent right down and got her out. He soothed her beautifully while Emily and I talked props and backdrops. He has also stepped right in to fatherhood flawlessly. Cheers to Ella having some pretty awesome parents to grow up with.
